Porky’s Beach - Day 1

Pristine Beaches on King Island
The day one package ride departs from our Badger Box Creek Farm and winds down a picturesque track to where the creek meets the ocean.  Travelling north along the iconic British Admiral Beach.  The ride treks through Half Moon Bay down to the shoreline and to the site of the shipwreck Netherby.  After which we trek past the Golf Course and through to Currie Harbour where the fishing boats are moored.  At the wharf we trek around the mouth of the harbour through Devils Gap and along the coast track known as Stricklands.  The ride continues north to where we cross Porky’s Creek and continues  along a little further where the ride ends at the stunning Porky’s Beach.

The scenery on this ride is absolutely spectacular.  A light lunch will be provided along the way. We finish the day with a platter of King Island Cheese and a cold drink.

Quarantine Bay - Day 2

Trail Riding King Island
The day two package ride departs Porky’s Beach and continues north along the picturesque King Island west coast and passes through Unlucky Bay, a place which in no way resembles its namesake.  This provides a good opportunity  to put the horses in the calm water.  Then still heading north we pass by many pristine coves and inlets until we reach Pass River and a chance to water the horses.  Off again past the Marine Research Station and ever north.  At Duck Bay we are getting closer to our goal, along the track that takes us over Whistler Point.  At this stage you will be left breathless by the view out to Christmas and New Year Islands.  This calm anchorage is a haven for the crayfish boats in stormy weather.  Our destination, Quarantine Bay is directly in front of us at the base of the hill and the vista north reveals Yellow Rock Beach and Cape Farewell.

The scenery on this ride is absolutely spectacular. A light lunch will be provided along the way. We finish the day with a platter of King Island Cheese and a cold drink.

The cost of the day ride is $245.00pp all inclusive. (Minimum 2 people).

Lake Flanagan - Day 3

Quarantine Bay - King Island
The day three package ride departs from Quarantine Bay. We head inland over the Yellow Rock River Bridge and up North Yellow Rock Road.  From there we turn north at the Bottle House and along the old stock route past the restored Old Yambacoona School  and along to Bob Lagoon.  These wetlands are a feast for your eyes, full of birds and native wildlife.  Heading further north we pass Duck Ponds and this track provides reasonably easy going for our horses.  Further on past Three Tree Lagoon we stop at the southern end of Lake Flanagan.

The scenery on this ride is absolutely spectacular.  A light lunch will be provided along the way. We finish the day with a platter of King Island Cheese and a cold drink.

The cost of the day ride is $245.00pp all inclusive. (Minimum 2 people).

Cape Wickham - Day 4

Cape Wickham Trail Ride
The day four package ride departs from Lake Flanagan. We then head north along Rocky point Road until we once again find the ocean at Rocky point.  Around the point we encounter the stunning Disappointment Bay, a place you will not forget.  Travelling west on the north coast we wind our way past the Doughboy Rocks and Navarine Reef, the site of the shipwreck Neva.  Around Cape Wickham we reach our destination, Cape Wickham Lighthouse, the tallest Lighthouse in the Southern Hemisphere.  From here we can view the idyllic setting known as Victoria Cove and the new world class Golf Course being developed on King Island. The shorter riding distance on this day gives us the opportunity for a BBQ lunch comprising of King Island Beef and King Island Dairy products.
